"My objective is to provide accurate and accessible journalism by serving as a clear lens through which the public is compelled to get information. This is accomplished through complete understanding of the material being reported, empathy for the reader and a creative and entertaining literary voice. 

I believe there is an objective, universal scale of quality for art. Picasso&#39;s <i>Guernica</i> may not be aesthetically pleasing, but anyone can appreciate the technical genius and strong social message it evidences. Not everyone has heard Beethoven&#39;s Ninth Symphony, but no one who listens can doubt it is a remarkable creation. 

I write creatively as a meditation on the concrete world. Journalists observe and depict reality. Through skill in creative writing I seek to polish the lens I use to convey reality to others.&#34;
