City of Dunedin really bombed on this one. #1, they advertised it on FaceBook. Social Media gets the word far and wide. They should have expected the massive crowds and planned accordingly. Also....whenever there is a major event at Highlander park, the city always installs no parking signs along pinehurst and they clearly mark the adjacent neighborhood streets as "no parking on this street". THEY DID NOT MARK ANYTHING. I live close to the park. If there had been an emergency on our street the Fire Department would not have had a chance at being able to maneuver down our street. It was darned near impossible in my husband's Honda and my Nissan! People were fighting over parking in some strangers yard! When we tried to turn onto Pinehurst you had absolutely zero vision of traffice in either direction due to the numerous cars parked heavily on Pinehurst. It was a MESS. And I have a question. Did our tax dollars pay for this? If so, it should only be open to Dunedin residents...not St. Pete, not Tampa....there were people from everywhere there. Not fair to our kids in our town. They really need to re-think this one!

I agree with K.T. now they can easily find her....way to go Lee Diekemper, you just put her in danger, rather than keep her safe!

I want to tell you about a great mom. My mother-in-law. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever met and I consider myself blessed to be included in her family. She is a "stay at home" mom, who takes care of a 30 year old disabled man named Ryan Shane. She has dedicated her life to Ryan for years. Ryan has suffered from CP since child-hood and has been wheelchair bound for years and years. If it was not for the love and care that Rennette and all the family and friends give him, he would not be here. She is by no means a large woman, and she lifts that young man out of that chair probably 10 times a day without flinching. She has taught me much...the true meaning of dedication, and so much more. She deserves a special treat for mother's day. I love you Rennette and am blessed to have you as my mother-in-law! Roni

congratulations to the Mayor and Commissioners on doing the best thing for everyone. We attended the meeting and planned on speaking, however since my husband gets up at 230am for work we had to leave before the meeting ended. Glad to hear it ended with them reopening Patricia.....the speed humps should have been done first in the first place!!!!

I agree with Mr. Harris....STOP WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS. Open the darned street. Give out tickets to speeders. Put in the speed humps (just like on the side streets).

making it a one-way street is ridiculous! that's the way to solve it....make it one way and let there be chaos! How about just reopening it, and installing speed bumps...they work just fine on Jackmar...it used to be a speedway, but the speed humps stopped that! ALSO...since the "closing" of Patricia, golf carts have been allowed through....now that golf carts are allowed on almost all of the streets in Dunedin, then they should have to follow the same laws as vehicles. If it stays closed, then NO golf carts should be allowed. If it opens one-way, then the golf carts must also follow the one-way direction! Unfortunately I cannot attend the meeting tonight, but my husband will be there. Come on residents, show up and let the city know this has gone on long enough and wasted many precious dollars of our budget to "study" traffic flow around this area. Get it over with!

I do not think having the Walmart grocery store in Dunedin will take away from any of the local merchants. It may very well bring more people into Dunedin and thereby increase business for the locals! Some items at the Walmart grocery are alot cheaper than the other 3 big grocery stores we have. In this economy I will shop where I save the most!

We live on Jackmar and the speed humps have worked wonders. We were extremely disappointed when they closed Patricia as relatives live off San Salvador with a disabled person, now when we need to get there quick we have to go out to Pinehurst and this adds precious minutes to our travel time...and if its school open or close time...its absolutely horrible! Please tell the commissioners to leave well enough alone....leave the speed humps where they are....even add a few down Patricia, but open it back up!
