Dunedin Fourth of July: 'Hometown' Fireworks, Flag Retirement

Check out what's happening this Independence Day in Dunedin.

July 4 is here, and we know you're ready to celebrate America.

There's lots going on in Dunedin, from Minor League Baseball and fireworks, to barbecue and a patriotic flag burning ceremony.

The Dunedin-Palm Harbor VFW Post 2550 on Douglas Avenue honors faded Old Glory flags, no longer able to be flown, with a final tribute service starting at 3 p.m. The flag chosen for the service will be hoisted on the flag pole in front of the VFW, ceremoniously brought down and prepared for burning.

Dunedin's annual Hometown USA celebration begins with a ballgame at 4:15 p.m. at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. It is followed a "The Greg Billings Band" concert and fireworks. Admission is free.
